Project Concern International (PCI) US & Border Programs – CDC ALCANCE is pleased to announce the Community Health Worker (CHW) Leadership training for those interested in pursuing the CHW Certification at San Diego City College.  Trainings are free and will begin on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 (the first set of trainings will be provided in Spanish).  Please see attached flyer for more detailed information.

Priority enrollment will be given to participants who meet the following criteria:

1-      Currently have their GED and are interested in pursuing the CHW Certification Program at San Diego City College
2-      Are interested in obtaining their GED and becoming a CHW
3-      Have experience working as a CHW

CDC ALCANCE will provide the following workshops:
1-      Written and Oral Communication (3 hours)
2-      Presentation and Public Speaking (3 hours)
3-      Public Education Skills (3 hours)
4-      Policy Engagement and Participation (3 hours)
5-      Chronic Disease (Heart health, diabetes, obesity) (5hours)
6-      Cancer (3 hours)
7-      Stroke (3 hours)
8-      Utilization of the Referral Pathway Tool/Community Practicum (Up to 10 hrs.)

(A certificate will be provided for successful completion of the program)

Participant’s commitment:
1-      Attend all sessions
2-      Complete a community practicum at the end of the training sessions
3-      Follow-up with enrollment at San Diego City College

Project Concern International (PCI) US & Border Programs – CDC ALCANCE se complace en anunciar la capacitación de Liderazgo para Trabajadores Comunitarios de Salud para todos los que estén interesados ​​en la certificación de Trabajadores Comunitarios del Salud en San Diego City College. Los entrenamientos son gratuitos y comenzarán el miércoles 29 de abril, del 2015 (se proporcionará la primera serie de entrenamientos en español. 6- Cáncer (3 horas)
7- Derrame Cerebral  (3 horas)
8- La utilización de la herramienta (RPT)/ Practica en la comunidad (Hasta 10 hrs.)

(Se proporcionará un certificado de participación al final del programa)

El compromiso de los participantes:
1- Asistir a todas las sesiones
2- Completar una práctica comunitaria al final de las sesiones de entrenamiento
3-  Continuar con inscripciones en San Diego City College
